I like most these ideas -- having trouble getting my head around the bagel thing but I'm just not that creative.

I always thought there should be a patient/family locator service in Rochester. Although each patient is asked at registration where they are staying locally, if they are hospitalized and don't go through the registration process at Mayo or if they are family members, this information is missed. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to call around trying to find patients or family members.

The Party bus idea is cool but there would be a lot of liabilities and legal questions I would have. How to avoid "Open Bottle", do you need a full-fledged liquor license or is this considered a "private party" in which case you would charge a package price and it included the booze? Would you sell advertising on the bus for a premium rate to bars/restaurants? Lots of potential and lots of thinking to do on that one.

We have a pet hotel here in Mesa, AZ. It is very successful. I have provided a link. I think this may be one of the best ideas as pets are the greatest companion when a patient is living through a health crisis and you are 100% correct, your average hotel sees pets as a HUGE nuisance so this would be a welcome concept to Mayo patients. Several pet organizations would include you on their sites as they are looking for hotels that accept pets. Easy incremental dollars from advertising contracts, upgraded services, etc. I like it!

I have a few of my own I will send you in a separate email. Thanks DJ!

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
