Lower City Heroics is a project which includes 6 members from the Minneapolis area. All 6 members formed together while in college. They starting playing together in the halls of The Institute of Production and Recording. Knowing it would be hard to record themselves, they searched out Dallas McLaughlin. With a 210M Certification in Pro Tools, they knew there would be no man better suited for the job.
Digital Avenue provided the first known recording of Lower City Heroics. Recorded on a SSL4000J using Pro Tools 7.1, we were able to capture to presence and openess of the L.C.H. sound. Our goal was to provide a open, natural sound to give our listeners a sense of depth. With the creative use of Joe Meek compressors, API Pre-Amps, and Great River EQ's, we were able to develop and showcase all three dimensions.
